Hello Everyone! ♥ I'm going to be talking about New Solo Artist LEE HI's new M/V 'Rose' -- This song is amazing! I love the contrast between the dark lyrics and the bright colours of the music video, This video is definitely showing the mature side of LEE HI, and this is sure no ordinary 16-17 year old love story. LEE HI showed her 'cutesy' side in her other album release 'It's Over', Which I didn't enjoy that much, even though, I am a hardcore HIHEEL, Then she released 'Rose' which I enjoyed a lot, This is much more of my style! :)
LEE HI never fails to disappoint me with her spectacular vocals, her jazzy voice is amazing and really matches with the great lyrics. I have never heard LEE HI rap before, around 2:05, the song switches, which was totally unexpected, and, I LOVED IT! ♥ It wasn't a 'girly' rap, It was a dark, eerie, deep rap that I enjoyed.
Now, to the M/V, It was amazing, I loved the expressive dancers that appeared, they really showed and expressed LEE HI's feelings, I loved all the roses, and the subtle pinks and reds that were placed throughout the M/V, I liked how it sticked with one colour theme :) The M/V was extremely deep, with the soldiers, who were fighting for her, trying to pass the thorns, on this rose, which was LEE HI. Loads of people were complaining because she doesn't dance or show expression on her face, but how could she when she's upset and depressed about her imperfections? I loved how she was expressionless because this showed that she was just frozen, and cold.
The lyrics are amazing as well, When she sang 'Every rose has it's thorn~' They placed a shadowy echo over her voice, which showed she's empty and lonely. The lines: 'Emotions? That’s an extravagance to me
Love? That’s Obsession’s best friend
So run away just run away
Cuz you and I must come to an end'
These lines were very deep as she begs the 'soldiers' to runaway because she doesn't want them to get hurt and doesn't want them to love her. The word 'MUST' shows that no matter what, she'll hurt him, and that it's an order, that they must come to an end. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, they really include a lot of emotion, Thank you 1TYM's Teddy, for writing this extraordinary song.
Overall, I give this song a proud 10/10! :-) ♥
